Prof. Xitong Li | Human-AI | Best Researcher Award

Prof. Xitong Li is a distinguished professor at HEC Paris, specializing in human-AI interaction, digital economy, social computing and computational social science. He holds dual Ph.D. degrees: one in Management with a specialization in Information Systems from MIT Sloan School of Management (2014) and another in Control Science and Engineering with a focus on Software Engineering from Tsinghua University, China (2010), along with a B.S. in the same field from Tsinghua University (2004). Over his academic career, he has held positions ranging from Assistant Professor (2014–2018) and Associate Professor with tenure (2019–2022) to Professor (2023–present) at HEC Paris and currently serves as a Research Fellow at Hi! PARIS, a joint research center with the Polytechnic Institute of Paris. Prof. Xitong Li’s research interests encompass applied econometrics, field and laboratory experiments, system design, development of AI-supported applications and studying the economics and societal impact of AI. He has led numerous international and national research projects, including ANR AAPG France, LABEX ECODEC initiatives and HEC Foundation-funded studies, demonstrating strong leadership and collaboration capabilities. His research output includes over 60 publications, with 1,397 citations and an h-index of 20, featured in top-tier journals and conferences such as IEEE Transactions, MIS Quarterly, and ICIS. Prof. Xitong Li has held senior editorial roles, including Senior Editor at Production and Operations Management and Associate Editor at Information Systems Research and has contributed to multiple special issues in leading journals. His teaching portfolio spans Data Science, Business Analytics, Decision Modeling and Digital Management courses, alongside guest lectures at international institutions. Recognized with awards such as the INFORMS ISS Sandy Slaughter Early Career Award (2022), HEC Foundation Researcher of the Year (2023) and inclusion among the Top 10 Chinese Tech Leaders in Europe (2025), Prof. Xitong Li combines research excellence, mentorship and societal impact.
