Dr. Wangdo Kim earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Seoul National University in 1979. He continued his education at Lehigh University, where he obtained an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1986, followed by a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 1991. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Orthopaedic Biomechanics at Lehigh University in 1992.

He won 1st prize in the biomedical product competition during the Nanyang Technological University Technopreneurship 21 Program in 2001 and received the Paper Award from Physiological Measurement in 2006 for his study on “Wound measurement by curvature maps.” In 2012, his research on the natural frequency of the foot-surface cushion during running earned top article recognition from BioMedLib.
